Abstract
Wikidata-driven infoboxes are powerful tools with much untapped potential but their adoption has met with strong resistance, especially on the English Wikipedia. They can theoretically leverage Wikidata to update the info box on an article in every language Wikipedia simultaneously. This can be used as a powerful tool to bridge content gaps in smaller language Wikipedias with fewer contributors. It can also be used to bring the content of smaller language Wikipedias to larger ones, by making information and sources in languages with far fewer readers accessible to the larger language encyclopedias. Two veteran English Wikipedia editors will be joined by contributors from several smaller language encyclopedias to discuss the potentials, pitfalls, and resistance to these tools.
Outcomes
Raise awareness of these tools, provide resources for editors to bring them to smaller language projects.
