In the Netherlands there is a very active gendergap workgroup that is supported by Wikimedia Nederland. We aim to get more articles and entries about women in Wikimedia projects. We try to include more women/non binary people in the Wikimedia projects. In order to achieve this, we had to develop a new approach. We invested time in finding new ways to reach out to our possible new community members. In this presentation I will share our approach and outreach to new contributors. I will discuss the IRL events (meet ups, 1st Dutch Women Tech Storm) that we organize, how we work together with institutions and the use of excisting social media platforms. Both successes and failures will be part of my presentation.
Awareness of the fact that we are all individuals and that each of us has own interests and feelings. That has its effect on projects that aim to include new groups of editors.
