Greetings! I am a Cape Town-based writer with a background in environment and development. I am on a mission to ensure that southern Africa's protected areas including national parks are documented on Wikipedia - currently there is a lot of incorrect or missing information! I believe protected areas are a huge part of heritage, biodiversity conservation and important to the economies of African nations. I am looking to do a GLAM project or become a Wikipedian in residence to complete this mission. I am also looking at documenting Africa's rich biodiversity.
I will start with Namibian protected areas (I spent many years working for the Ministry of Environment and Tourism in Namibia, where I was responsible for compiling documentation on national parks and reserves in Namibia). I have already written articles on
